The objectives of this marketing-technical investigation are to:
- Provide clients with a total understanding of the specific chemical additives and film forming resins used for the slashing and sizing of warp yarns used in textile weaving in North America.
- Each of the identified chemical additives and resin film formers are investigated as to its United States, Mexican and Canadian:
- Consumption in 1992, 1993 and projected through 1998 for filament and for spun yarn uses.
- Function and performance parameters.
- Producers, suppliers and blender-formulators 1992, and their 1993 market shares and distribution channels employed to reach the market place.
- Product designations, pricing, activity levels, attributes and deficiencies.
- Resin and chemical recovery system technology trends, material reuse and impact virgin materials sales.
- Environmental protection agencies (U.S., Canada and Mexico) actions and pressures on textile mill sizing effluent discharge and impact on specific chemical and resin use, now and in the future.
- Desizing problems and impact on sizing material selection and use.
- Need for improved chemical additives and resin film formers, properties wanted, pricing and potential consumption levels.
- Slashing and sizing equipment developments and impact on specific chemical additives and resins used.
- Weaving equipment (loom) technology trends and impact on types of sizing materials used and wanted.
